TRAVELS
  1. INDIA
    INDIA

The first time I ventured outside Sri Lanka. I was a part of the school cricket team, and we were awarded a tour to India for winning the under-15 national championship the previous year. We went where we were taken, so not much to write home about exploration wise, but it was a fun experience. It was the time before mobile phones and the internet, so I don't have any pictures, but the memories are still there.
  2. JAPAN
    JAPAN

It was the start of a fascinating chapter of my life. Moving to Japan - a country world away from where I grew up - was a big move, but a fun-filled one at the same time. The work itself presented a lot of challenges which I enjoyed, but the life in Japan in general added a whole new dimension to my life. I've met people from all over the world, traveled the width and breadth of Japan, watched Sumo live, Skied on Olympic ski-slopes, climbed Mt. Fuji, and had authentic Japanese food day in and day out.
  3. ROME & VENICE
    ROME & VENICE

History. Pizza. Wine. More history. Catching up with old friends in front of Venetian canals. Seeing some of the most iconic architecture and art in human history was unreal. That was a summer to remember.
  4. AUSTRALIA
    AUSTRALIA

The first time I visited Australia was in 2012, and what I have in my the most is a whole lot of blue. I was visiting Sydney, and they do have some amazing beaches, mountains, the iconic Sydney Opera House, and some more.
  5. USA
    USA

During my first visit to the US, and then later when I started living here, I've been to quite a few places for a rather short span of time. Washington DC and Baltimore on the East Coast, then a whole lot of desert in Arizona, Nevada and California. The Grand Canyon was a sight to behold, the Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon in Arizona were breathtaking, the Death Valley is aptly named, and Las Vegas at night is a sight to behold.
  6. AROUND THE WORLD
    AROUND THE WORLD

So I decided to get married in late 2015, and thought we'd make a trip around the world of it. We chose not to have a wedding ceremony, and instead visited a lot of places starting from Las Vegas, then to New York, Abu Dhabi, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Sydney, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. A real trip around the world. That was worth every penny.
